Minokichi Masuda, a family predecessor, originally opened the Toyo Gallery within the then Toyo Assembly Hall. Following reconstruction the building was renamed to the Shinjuku Molerie Building, and in 1986 the gallery was renamed Gallery Em.

Within the culture of Shinjuku, and the streets that blend the old and new, we aim to be a base for the arts.
